David Bettencourt

David is passionate about providing opportunities and giving back to Veterans to regain their purpose and voice with families and communities they once called home.  He is the newest member of the Horse Power Equine team.  He is proud to have served his country in the United States Air Force during Dessert Storm.  He was a member of Strategic Air Command, Carswell AFB. 

After his service, David had a difficult time returning to civilian life. He felt out of place, unstructured, and alone.  With a family to support, he eventually found work in the construction industry.  While he was able to support his family financially, the job was not fulfilling.  He continued to work fulltime and a part-time college student.  He proudly earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Human Development with minors in Biology and Health Education from Texas A&M University in 2012.   David earned a Master of Educational Administration from Lamar University in 2020. 

David continues to coach and teach middle and high school students in an Alternative Placement in College Station ISD, while building and training for his first passion: advocating for Veterans.  David is proud to serve on team Horse Power, and excited about all it has to offer.
